Brilio.net/en - 2015 indeed drives us crazy with all of the incredible movies the year has shown us. Some titles like Mad Max: Fury Road, Jurassic World, The Hateful Eight, Carol, The Revenant, Star Wars: Force Awaken and many more really turn our year fantastic!
Well, 2016 will not leave us disappointed with the movies which can top our favorite list in a whole year. Hence, here are 15 movies you certainly should watch in 2016.
1. Creed January 15
Starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, Apollos son, the movie directed by Ryan Coogler shows Sylvester Stallone make a comeback reprising the role of Rocky Balboa.
It is the seventh Rocky film and both a spin-off from the original series and a sequel to 2006s Rocky Balboa.
2. Hail Caesar! February 5
Hail Caesar! is a comedy movie written, produced and directed by Coen brothers, imagining the world set in the 1950s where Josh Brolin as Manix, a fixer working in the Hollywood film industry, trying to discover what happened to a cast member who is kidnapped during filming.
Hail Caesar! will also starred by George Clooney, Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton, Scarlet Johansson and Ralph Fiennes.
3. Deadpool February 12
An anti-superhero movie, offering many violent and bloody scenes, swears, and dark sense of humor telling a story of Wade Wilson, a mercenary who was subjected to an experiment to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
The movie is directed by Tim Miller and stars by Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Gina Carano.
4. Neon Demon March
The American-Danish horror thriller movie directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and co-written by Mary Laws and Refn is starred by Elle Fanning, Alessandro Nivola and Keanu Reeves. Covered in a kind of sleazy-glamnoir ambient, the movie tells the story of Jesse, an aspiring model who moves to Los Angeles only to find a gang of beauty-obsessed women which will devour her vitality and youth.
5. Everybody Wants Some April 15
Richard Linklater is back after his Oscar-winning film Boyhood with Everybody Wants Some. The American sports comedy-drama film is starred by mostly unknown actors like Blake Jenner, Ryan Guzman, Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell and Zoey Deutch.
The movie likely to keep their cards close to the chest until the month it is going to be released on March 2016. Well, lets hope this will be another great movie of cult classic high school adolescence in America.
6. The Nice Guys May 20
Russel Crowe, Ryan Gossling, Angourice Rice, Matt Bomer and Kim Basinger will play on this American mystery thriller dark comedy by Shane Black. The movie tells the story of Holland March (Ryan Gosling), a down-on-his-luck private and a hired enforcer, Jackson Healy (Russel Crowe) working together to solve the case of a missing girl before they reveal a shocking conspiracy involving the highest circles of power.
7. The BFG July 1
A childrens book by Roald Dahl narrating the story of Sophies friendship with a friendly giant is brought to life by Steven Spielberg. Similar to what is written on the book, Sophie and her new friend together will capture the evil, man-eating giants who have been invading the human world. The movie is starred by Ruby Barnhill, Mark Rylance and Penelope Winton.
8. Ghostbuster July 15
Who would have thought we would see the third series of Ghostbusters movie? Yup, they are back and it is no longer secret that they are women now. Starred by Kristen Wiig, Mellisa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Paul Feig at the helm, the movie might be as funny as his last female-led comedies like The Heat or Spy.
9. La La Land July 15
Another movie starred by Ryan Gossling, this time he will play in an American musical comedy-drama movie with Emma Stone, J.K Simmons, Finn Wittrock and John Legend. Set in modern-day Los Angeles, La La La portrays a romantic relationship between a jazz pianist and an actress. The movie itself is directed and written by Damien Chazelle.
10. Jason Bourne 5 July 29
Matt Damon is finally back to reprise Jason Bourne the reluctant superspy in the fifth series of the movie. Matt Damon is not alone this time since Paul Greengrass once again takes the lead after The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007.
11. Suicide Squad August 5
One of the most-anticipated anti-hero movies will hit the big screen on August. David Ayer is in charge and the movie stars an ensemble cast featuring Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevigne and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Yes, the movie will tell the dark side of DC Universe, about a bunch of supervillain like Joker, Deadshot and Harley Quinn on a live dead mission.
12. The Girl on The Train October 7
Emily Blunt will play as Rachel Watson, an alcoholic troubled woman who starts a voyeuristic relationship with a couple she spies on while riding her daily commuter rail. Things are escalated when she sees something shocking and decides to let the police known of what she sees. Tate Taylor is in charge for the movie version of the critically acclaimed novel by Paul Hawkins.
13. Inferno October 14
Based on 2013 novel of the same name by Dan Brown, the movie is the sequel to Angels & Demons with Tom Hanks reprising Robert Langdon along with Felicity Jones, Omar Sy, Ben Foster and Sidse Babett Knudsen.
This time Robert will awaken with no memory of what happened over the last few days before he finally found himself as a target of manhunt. Once again with the knowledge of symbology he posseses, he tries to solve the mystery to regain his freedom and memories.
14. Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them November 18
The first series from the Harry Potter prequel lets us know the story of magizoologist, Newt Scamander who is later write a book describing numerous magical creatures located all over the world. Strarring Eddie Redmaine as Newt, this British-American fantasy drama film is directed by David Yates and was written by J.K. Rowling as her screenwriting debut.
15. The Great Wall November 23
The Great Wall is American-Chinese 3D science fantasy action adventure directed by Zhang Yimou where Matt Damon and Andy Lau are the main casts here. Along with the cast stars like Willem Dafoe, Pedro Rascal, Jing Tian, Luhan and Zhang Hanyu, the movie will set in the Northern Song Dynasty, uncovering the mysteries revolving around the Great Wall of China.
16. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story December 16
This will be the first Star Wars movie ever for not featuring the episode subtitle as it will be in the Star Wars Anthology series, a collection of stand-alone stories set in the Star Wars universe.
Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, and Alan Tudyk, under the direction of Gareth Edwards, all of them will play shortly before the events of Star Wars. The story focuses on a group of Rebel spies on a mission to steal the plans for the Empires new weapon.
17. Silence TBA 2016
Silence historic-drama movie directed by Martin Scorsese adapted from the 1966 novel of the same name written by Shusaku Endo. The movie portrays a gruesome reality for Christians in Japan during 17th century.
Starred by Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Liam Neeson, Tadanobu Asano, and Ciarn Hinds, the movie reveals the story of two Jesuit Portuguese Catholic priests facing violent persecution when they travel to Japan to seek out their mentor and spread the teaching of Christianity.
