“The hardest part was how to recall the spirit of such place on a small scale.”

Brilio.net/en - Ali Alamedy didnt know so much about 1900s photography before, but he decided to swallow up all of those articles, literature, eyeing hundreds of old photos and doing huge research in order to create an intricate, insanely detailed 1900s photo studio miniature in recognition of an old photographer. And he remarkably did it.

The miniaturist, art director and motion graphic designer spent no less than nine months working on his real-sized studio to build all the mini objects from scratch. He used hundreds of meters of wood and lots of other materials like plastic, copper, and paper. He managed to create more than 100 miniature objects in high details, with shapes and designs according to the 1900s era.

Being in the pre-digital era, things from the 1900s arent so easy to replicate; moreover, in such details and accuracy. Lack of picture references became Alamedys obstacle, and even if he managed to get those pictures, they lacked color as they were all in black and white.

So, Alamedy had to read many books about photography and educate himself about photographers at the time and what tools, techniques, styles or colours they used in their studios.

The hardest part was how to recall the spirit of such place on a small scale, he wrote on Bored Panda.
