As hard as it is to believe, the Chinese company Xiaomi collaborated with US toy producer Hasbro to do just that. They have integrated robotic features and attributes into Xiaomis Mi Pad 2 tablets. The robot is no ordinary one either as it was designed to be a full 3D transformer robot!
Several weeks ago, Xiaomi launched a crowdfunding campaign in China for a robot model called Soundwave, one of Transformers most popular characters. The company set a target to sell a whooping 1,000 units at a price of 169 Yuan (US$26) each within a span of 13 days. Did they achieve that? You bet! In fact, the number of customers who demanded it surpassed the firms target.
