Brilio.net/en - In a turn on unexpected events, a Chinese gaming company Beijing Kunlun Tech Company has bought the controlling stake in Grindr, the gay hook up app that is only six years young. The founder Joel Simkhai and Grindrs employees will own the remaining 40% of the company.

The move is interesting in part due to Chinas history of banning foreign companies like Facebook. While Grindr operates in 196 countries, it has yet to enter the Chinese market.

Furthermore, China doesnt have the ideal history of supporting LGBTQ peoples. Only 21 percent of Chinese people supporting the belief that societies should accept homosexuality, compared to UKs 76 percent.

There is speculation that the company will be diversifying from the hook-up game and expand into more of a lifestyle brand, especially as the Beijing company is a gaming company. Grindr announced earlier this week that it will collaborate with designer J.W. Anderson to stream his upcoming menswear collection, which could just be the start of several new turns in the company.

Grindr could be the place to get your next suit, and the person wholl take it off.
