Brilio.net/en - Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and Deputy Djarot Saiful Hidayat will take another campaign leave starting tomorrow until April 15 to prepare for the elections second leg.
The runoff will take place on April 19.
Home minister Tjahjo Kumolo said that the handover will take place this afternoon at around 5 p.m. at the Jakarta City Hall.
However, Tjahjo refused to tell whom he appointed as Ahoks replacement, though therea a possibility the previous acting governor Sumarsono will resume his role.
Its possible, Tjahjo said this morning. I havent signed the official order. I havent decided, there are still several names.
Meanwhile, Ahok is working as usual on his last day before the campaign leave.
Visitors gathered in City Hall since 6 a.m. to meet the governor and deliver their complaints and concerns.
One of Ahoks staff, Nathanael Ompusunggu, said to Kompas that the crowd was bigger than usual.
People have been calling me since last night, saying that they will come to the City Hall. I understand, its the last day, hell be on leave again tomorrow, he said.
