Brilio.net/en - Bryan Singer, director of X-Men movies, has recently announced the newest progress for a project he's been working on for the past eight years: a movie about the British legendary band Queen. Previous reports have mentioned that an offer for Sacha Baron Cohen had to go down the drain after a disagreement with an unnamed remaining member of the band in 2013 forced Singer to find another cast.

Singer has reportedly proposed the role of the band's frontman Freddie Mercury to Rami Malek, who has agreed to play the part. He is known for his earlier roles inNight at the Museumand television seriesMr. Robot, for which he has won two awards this year.

The biopic will be titled Bohemian Rhapsody, taken from the band's most famous single hit, written by Mercury himself, who passed away in 1991 at the age of 45 from an AIDS-related pneumonia.

"I don't want people to look back and think: 'This character was entirely in his wheelhouse, and he's probably going to end up playing a bunch of paranoid guys who have conspiracy theories.' Which could easily happen!" the 35-year-old actor told Interview magazine earlier this year.

"I've had my fair share of 1970s conspiracy movies delivered over. I would love to turn around and do something polar opposite, and that might actually be happening soon. If the right people are involved and the script is just as powerful, I'd like to make some even crazier choices.

The movie is expected to begin shooting in early 2017 and will be produced by Graham King and Queen manager, Jim Beach. Queens Brian May and Roger Taylor will be involved with the music and The Theory Of Everything screenwriter Anthony McCarten will be in charge of screenwriting.
