Brilio.net/en - Any female guitarist would have cursed it at least once: this uncomfortable guitar that crushes the chest. The quest of the perfect instrument has now come to an end for women dreaming about comfort and music at the same time. St. Vincent, whose real name is Annie Clark, imagined a six-string electric guitar adapted to womens morphology.

The American songwriter and singer worked together with the engineers of Ernie Ball Music Man on this project and designed a model that perfectly moulds the female chest and at the same time is suitable for women of short stature. There is room for a breast. Or two, as mentioned on her last Instagram post.

Where some six-string guitars are blocking the upper body part, the St. Vincent Ernie Ball MusicMan Signature allows musicians to play by holding the instrument exactly up to the height they need. Weighing approximately three kilograms, this guitar is also much lighter than the traditional instrument.

In an interview with Guitar World magazine, Annie talks about her creation and explains: "I'm glad that a new kind of guitar, favourableto female forms does now exist. I'm glad it's here and I hope people will appreciate it and that both men and women will love its ergonomics. But especially smaller people and women."

In the music industry, sexism tucks itself in the small details. In January last year, DJ Nomi complained to I-D Vice magazine about the size of the mixing tables. She explained that she felt this inequality permanently and especially in the set-up of the mixing equipment: "When I started mixing at Le Baron, I couldnt physically reach the turntables. The decks were designed for boys only and were placed really high. I had to mix perched on a case of beer to be able to properly reach it. "

Announced five months ago on Instagram, the guitar signed by St. Vincent will be available in March and if you are still septic about its capacities, have a look at her designer performing on stage with Beck and Taylor Swift!
