The cyanide coffee murder may be the first to rock Indonesia in recent years, but the substance is no stranger to such cases around the world.

Brilio.net/en - The case of Jessica Wongso who was recently found guilty in the murder of Wayan Mirna Salihin by supposedly dropping cyanide into her coffee dominated headlines in Indonesia and abroad for months, with the court recently handing down a 20-year prison sentence.

But while the case may be the first to make waves in Indonesia, it sure isn't the first cyanide murder case in the world. Below we take a look at other cases in the past.

1. Heinrich Himmler.

Heinrich Himmler was a top-ranking Nazi who was found dead with two cyanide capsules in his mouth. He was allegedly killed by members of the British Intelligence.

2. Alan Turing.

3. Stepan Bandera.
