Brilio.net/en - It happened last Tuesday in the afternoon and it is as unexpected as intriguing: worldwide famous rapper Kanye West paid a visit to the furniture giant Ikea, in the small town of lmhult where the company opened its first store in the fifties.
The presence of the American superstar in this place provoked a massive reaction from the Swedish media: breaking news stories published in most newspapers and national channels rolling live coverage of his visit step by step in the headquarters of Ikea. The video of Kanyes visit is available here.
Super inspired by my visit to Ikea today, really amazing company my mind is racing with the possibilities, he posted yesterday on his twitter account. Not really giving much information about the reason why he was there On top of that, the press officer of the group, Jakob Holmstrm, remained very mysterious as well: "Time will tell" he said. To the national press, he made a few comments about the visit, but would not confirm or deny whether Kanye would be taking part in a collaboration with the Swedish brand, which of course everybody suspects.

Indeed, despite the fact that the groups spokesman didnt confirm anything about a possible design project together with Kanye West, it seems that would to be the only reason. Most Swedish newspaper suggested that the rapper could be talking business with the Swedish furniture giant on the advice of his friend Kate Eary, a designer who already worked with Ikea in the past.
In addition, Kanye West is famous for taking part in many different kind of businesses: renowned for his music of course but also big in the clothing industry (he owns his own clothing line and collaborates with Adidas on a shoe range) and even in the food industry where he collaborated with a burger chain. Thus it wouldnt be surprising if he would now turn his gaze to becoming a furniture designer.
There has been no official announcement so far, but what other reason could it be for someone whos on debts (fifty-three thousand million dollars according to his twitter account) to travel all the way to Sweden? Any other suggestions?
